Alternative Transportation
What kind of transportation is everyone expecting to use if TSHTF? If, for example, there's an evacuation, you don't honestly think you can fill up at the nearest gas station and take a leisurely cruise down the highway, do you? Remember the hurricane evac disaster down in Texas?
I haven't owned a car for about a year. I don't miss it. I bike, and have a trailer to haul my kid and a large amount of cargo. I save hundreds$ every month, and don't stress out in traffic. I can go and park where cars can't and I love the freedom. It's a great way to "bug out" if things get ugly, while all the sheeple are stuck in traffic mugging and killing each other to get ahead or steal gas/food/water. Any other ideas out there? |
Re: Alternative Transportation
Well, I have a pick up, a RAV 4, two scooters 85 MPG, and two bicycles with one of them having a small engine (about 125 MPG.)
And if all that doesn't work ? a good pair of boots :clap2: |
Re: Alternative Transportation
I like bikes and trikes. They're efficient, cheap, sustainable and can carry a lot more than you'd think. A couple from the below site are on my list,
http://www.worksman.com/what_makes_t...n_mover_th.htm When I was down in Mexico the farmers used to ride their whole families into town on their frontloading trikes, wife, kids, dog, the whole deal. Gas burners have their place too, speed, power and convenience. Below are the most fuel efficient gas vehicles I know of, try 200mpg! and yes, there are trailers for towing available. Also, they have offroad models that get 100mpg and can carry 400lbs. www.goped.com Anything beats walking. Speed is life and you can carry more. |
